Hi All!
I just got a new to me Lionel SD-60 Burlington Northern Diesel Locomotive #6-18241. In reading the instructions it says that I can install a 9V battery. Where do you put the battery? Do you take the whole engine apart? It says in the instructions that it is under the tender body. Thank you for any help.

I believe one of the roof panels by and or the radiators can be removed. I have one, but I don't install them if I am running it in command.
The battery clip is located under the body
toward the front of the engine. Remove the
tender body, refer to the diagrem on page 6
for location of mounting screws
In other words inside the shell. Requiring all the screws to be removed. If the battery is needed. In this case: I would purchase one of Gunnrunner Johns
battery replacements. A permanent solution!
