I going to replace the carbon rollers and other stuff but need advice on the top copper coil it shifts up and down

a  sideways a little so is there anyway to firm it up and make it tight.P1030805P1030806

If I was going to guess, I would say that your transformer has had a new, riveted core installed, but the original aluminum mounting brackets for the old style "built-up" core were retained. The older core was maybe 3/16 wider than the riveted core.

Personally, I would make sure the tabs on the aluminum mounting brackets are doing their best, and then make some wedges from wooden "popsicle sticks" to take up any remaining motion.Or, find a set of the newer style brackets.
