Hi Gentlemen, I was wondering if Lionel part 6-81499 would be an ok replacement for a lost power supply on my original #990. I had moved a few years ago and when i finally dug out my trains, i found i did not have the wall wart that plugs into the base.

No. That is for the Sensor track, etc. LC System. You need part # 6307156010 from Lionel Parts. It is 8 VAC, etc. but more than that it has a connection of the outer barrel connector to the third pin on the AC plug which uses the ground system of the house wiring as an antenna for the Legacy signal.
Thanks Chuck, I will see if they still have one around. I hope it isn't like everything else tech oriented and they don't make the parts anymore!

Hi again, I just typed in part number 6307156010 and it says it's a wall pack /base-1L/120V 0.2A. Is this the correct part for my #990 because it says it's unavailable. Any options?

Whoops wrong one. That's for the 1L base. This is the right one, just was hard for me to find with their search. Order 6204202001.
