Marklin help required ?

Today I purchased what I think is a Pre-war Marklin double bogie 2nd Class Carriage?

However its thrown me and my research skillz into a bit of a quandry...

It LOOKS like a Marklin O Gauge 17510 Green Passenger 2nd Class Coach... and I can find plenty of info on THEM on the www .... but mine has a different number up top ... in the right Marklin font and colours with 46225 rather than 17510 ? The chassis has the right ( I think ) pre-war stamping, and everything looks right on it to me ... just that weirdo number ?

Oh and just comparing it now again it has different depth chassis sides as well ?

As opposed to a "normal" 17510

Did Marklin release this later Post war?

I am not to fussed as it was very cheap ( comparatively) but it has me scratching my head?

I am glad I am not losing my mind Dennis LOL! ( well any more than usual anyway)

I dont have it in hand yet , but it all looks so "right" but yet I cant find even a picture ot that deep side chassis anywhere , and yet it has the Marklin stamping .... I thnk we need @FRENCHTRAINS and/or @Arne on the case lol ! ( come back @sncf231e LOL!)

It must be a post war production, as Marklin still manufactured O gauge trains in the post war period, before 1950. The choice was less important than before but still good quality. I do not think the wheels on your model are Marklin, originally they are steel models. It is a nice model in good condition and less common than pre-war models.

I am coming around to that way of thinking (post war) but still would love to definitively date it .. the search continues !

Apart from the wheels ( and concur probably added by someone) the chassis frame lowers and carriage number its pretty identical to the 17510
