Just received an e-mail from them. They are offering Army boxcars with a cannon shell load. These cars will come with diecast trucks too.

Someone in the Menards purchasing dept certainly is into O Gauge electric trains.
I believe they now have a flatcar with the army tank, a flatcar with an army truck and now the four boxcars. Would a caboose and locomotive be next? Great prices!

The problem I see with these military cars is going to be the same as with the flat bed Tank cars, you will need to up grade the trucks for quality constant running, figure on adding that cost to each military car, however both MTH & K-Line have real nice heavy trucks that fit perfectly. I may eventually invest in these Menard Military Box Cars now that Weaver has decided not make their military rolling stock, I need to add them to my US Army Special Forces Train set.

Dave, the ad clearly states that these cars come with metal trucks, not the plastic trucks that were on the flats.
Do they have a built date so as to apply them to the right era. Personally, my military stuff is WWII.

I have 9 of the Menards boxcars, NP, WC, and BN, all have steel frames and diecast trucks / couplers. I would think the Army boxcar would be the same.
