Not sure what your ****y attitude is about but it seems pretty typical of you Eddie. You do know not being an ******* helps as well?

I don't stay in fleabag motels. If there was a Ritz in York, I'd be there.

Some of you put posts on the forum and you try to help them, and they never come back on.

Hello Eddie, I apologize for posting this question and then never returning.

We are putting in some long days at work and looking at the computer was the last thing on my mind when I got home at night.

**** economy!!!!

I guess I should have written the question differently.

Being that this TCA show has been in this same location for several years I was wondering if the was any of the motels that seemed to cater to the TCA with special rates or anything like that.

I always like to support a business that helps with different events similar to this TCA event.

My wife and I will most likely stay at a Holiday Inn Express or a Hampton Inn.

Cost is always an issue but I want something clean and quiet and sometimes this costs a bit more but is worth it.

Thanks for all the replies!!!!

To the best on my knowledge, none of the area hotels offer special package rates for individuals attending the York Meet.  Some do make special arrangements for recurring groups such as our OGR staff group (half a dozen rooms or so) and others.

Fortunately, there now are a number of new hotels in the area to choose from, which makes finding a room at a late date a good bit easier.

The choices for lodging for those attending the Eastern Division show at York are numerous. I would venture to say that the majority of attendees stay in York but a good percentage stay in Lancaster, PA ( about a 35 minute drive to the East)where some attendees like ourselves appreciate the strong Amish culture, the vast shopping malls and the local cuisine . We have stayed at the Wyndham Suites, Mainstay Suites and a number of B & B's there. Like at York, decent accommodations start at about $100 per night and go to about $180. To my knowledge neither York or Lancaster feature any true 4 star luxury accommodations. The best that we have been able to find are 3 star hotels that are still very comfortable but not luxurious.

If you consider Lancaster do an online search and see for yourself.

As mentioned the Spring Carlisle Auto meet is the same dates as York ED TCA.  Approximately 100,000 people attend the Carlisle meet.   Many of them need a motel room.  Better be booking now.   If you have problems finding a room close to York then consider moving North about 21 min./25 miles just up I-83.   Easy trip to York Fairgrounds.  Search for motels in New Cumberland, PA.   Most that show up will be at the crossroads of I-83 and I-76 ( the PA Turnpike).  (Limekiln Rd.) Several decent restaurants in the area as well.  FWIW.

I have stayed at both the York Rodeway Inn and Super8 motels, and continue to do so. This meet I'm staying at the Rodeway on George St.. Senior rate $71.99 + tax, free internet and simple breakfast. Both are fine for sleeping, a price near $80., and are less than 2 miles from the fairgrounds. If you are having your "other" staying with you, get something more "upscale". Just don't kid yourself that a place outside of York will be ONLY X minutes away, unless you are driving at 2am.

BTW, I've stayed at a number of 4 and 5-star hotels around the world.
