A few weeks ago one of the grandsons was playing trains. Later that evening when I went to run some, the left throttle lever on one of mine no longer starts/stops in the same position. It acts like the shaft has something to control the movement, but is loose on the shaft. It works fine, just stops/starts in the wrong place. Anyone have this problem and what did you do?? Thought I'd ask before I open it up.

On my AH501 single-control, there are 3 set-screws that secure the wiper to the throttle shaft. You should be able to re-adjust the handle and tighten the screws. Just don't over-tighten them- the wiper arm is a soft metal and it will strip. Ask me how I know. 
Thanks Mike. The AH601 has the same set up and it is now tightened. There are three pointed end set screws to hold the wiper in place on the shaft, but no indents on the shaft itself to provide a secure lock. An over zealous grandson will sooner or later cause it to happen again, but that's Ok as long as he wants to play trains.
