Terrific and broad selection of items... Nice to see the intermodel twin-stack sets back with new roadnames and container designs... Never can have enough of those on a modern-day railroad.  And kudos to MTH for bringing back the rocket booster cars.   Nice!  I might also be in for one of the Schnabel cars.  Something about them i just like.

Two very striking passenger sets also caught my eye:   NP and the Alaska RR, although I've ventured into GGD territory for passenger cars nowadays.

Assuming MTH produces these items in their usual quantities, they'll be sell-outs for sure.  Excellent stuff!

Still waiting for  MTH to complete the UP heritage Western Pacific passenger cars... They never offered the 5-car set with the observation car (like they did in the other UP heritage roadnames), despite the fact that they produced just about all the other add-on cars in that paint scheme.    I guess we'll wait for another catalog.

Overall, given this economy... it's an excellent catalog.  No doubt about it.

Did they move them back to the ends or is MTH going to keep making this illustration mistake?

They've been illustrating them like that for years -- even though they've been producing them with newer inset wheel locations since 2009.  Not to worry.

Thanks again Matt, for the heads up

Same here Alex, I like the Dreyfus allot. A buddy of mine has the Santa Fe blue goose and to me it sounds great, it has proto 3 also. So we shall see.

Man I am going to be broke. Definitelt will be getting one set of the 5 car twin set and also one set to the rocket motor set. Will the RPO for the rockets be avilable for the road names listed in the catalog? I guess you could always find one separately sicne I assume there would be no difference. Of course the F7 Southern Pacific Black Window. I hope it will look like the one from I believe 2002 with the detail cross bars and especially the white stripes at the bottem edge.

I'm only getting partial pages loaded.

From what little I saw, I'm happy that there continues to be a number of Railking Imperial steam offerings (NKP 765, NYC Berks, Camelbacks, N&W J, SP Cab-fwd).  However after purchasing the recent RK Imperial PRR M1 I'm hesitant to pre-order.  I was disappointed that the Mountain's class lights were still cast in and not add-ons, there were no truck chains, the soundset had a good chuff and whistle, but they put in passenger sounds (The Clevelander) when they advertised in the catalog and on the box freight.  I don't recall the PRR mountains pulling passenger duty.

It would be nice if MTH would offer (for a fee) a customized sound set.  You can pick from a list of whistles, station stops, chuffs, bells, or general sidetrack sounds and submit a paid order and receive a digital download direct from MTH.  Would you pay $10 to $20 to get the sound package that YOU want?  MTH has the technology but do they have the staff or web structure to take the order?  They probably could use a google doc survey/order type form.

I've also noticed a lack of attention to the Imperial products. My LHS just got in the PS3 P47 Blue Comet Pacific. It was done somewhat recently in Western Maryland, CNJ, etc, perhaps 2 years ago. It had tender chains, builders plates, etc. The new PS3 version had none of those. No chains, no builders plates, etc. Disappointing. Hope they aren't just pushing them out and leaving these off to catch up with back ups.

It started very slowly, but I let it go for 2 to 4 minutes in another tab as I looked at another forum thread.  When I checked back, the download was done.  Much easier to view offline.  I'm not sure how the microsoft or apple download versions look.

I think there is a doubt about it. There are many different view points. Mostly re-cataloged Premier steam, No new tooling on anything as far as I noticed. Just a bunch of PS3 updates. No new Scaletrack pieces in 3 or 2 rail. I'm glad others are finding products they are excited about, but for me this is a very weak catalog. I'm growing bored with the rehashed products from the importers lately. They say it is the economy, but ironically I would spend more if they made new products. As it is now my money will stay put. Hopefully the HO catalog will surprise me.

Why is MTH re-issuing done-in-the-recent-past Primier line trains, like the North Coast Limited set?

We bought the entire set last time around, which seems like only a couple of years ago.

Don't see any difference between the one we have and the "new" issue ...

What am I missing seeing that they would re-do it so soon, or is MTH just moving out a previous item they over-built?

The question I guess I'd ask MTH is "I just bought this ... why would I purchase it again ... what's new, improved, or different?

Is it just that the stirrup straps will stay on the trucks of this issue
