I'm looking at getting an Allegheny 30-1615-1 engine and planning to run on Fastrack with O36 track.  Wondering what the overhang looks like as it traverses the curves.  How much clearance does it require in order to not contact scenery elements.  Can anyone provide pictures or video?

I don't know how much overhang this one needs, but the RK Cab Forward has the biggest overhang out of all the locomotives I have ever seen.  That one needs 3.5" from center line of track on O36 curves.  An easy way to look at it is to keep Lionel's FT 6" center to center track spacing in mind as you plan.  Even if there isn't an outside track, imagine there is, and keep anything out of the way from the edge of the actual track to the edge of the imaginary track.

I ran a RK N&W Y6b for years. Very similar to the locomotive you have. Great puller.

One of the big differences between this and the Premier are the two motors. Both driver sets swivel. On the scale version, the rear drivers are fixed and only the front driver set swivels. On 036, I would allow the width of the boiler beyond the outer edge of the FasTrack for clearance.

As an aside: this feature, while not prototypical, it does, in the "real modeling world" make these RK articulateds actually look better from the front on a curve than many scale versions do - those 2 swiveling "diesel-type- trucks" split the swing and the bobbing-around, geometrically, between the front and rear of the loco, reducing the front overhang. Conversely, it also increases the rear (cab) swing, but that gets noticed less, anyway.
