Hi Dottie

Well my preference is for a MTH P2/P3 unit OR a Dummy unit. While the Lionel unit does look nice (and I checked into them last year) I am holding out for something to run with my CHessie and SF MTH SD40-2's. That is my favorite engine. I think it is a classic.

Dudley, what year were those Weaver units made? Did they make a dummy?

One more plea to MTH - it's time to do another run of Kodachromes!

Jeff said it all, only powered units with e-unit plus horn in the initial run, then in the second run and later, they added protosounds 1.0 (and kept the e-unit plus horn only version as well), thus in the second run and later you could pick which version.

I would also add beside good looking, they are great running engines, with blind wheels in the center of the truck with flanged wheels on each end of the truck and the traction tires are on the wheels closest to the fuel tank, thus the leading wheels easily trip "detection" circuits on the layout.

Just be careful with this seller. Ask ALL questions and assume NOTHING!

Funny you mention that....he is one of nine sellers over 15 years (this includes private as well as retailers) that made it onto my "Never do business with again" list. No big deal.

On a more positive note - I mentioned to ANDY at MTH that it has been 17 years since they did a Kodachrome unit...he seemed somewhat interested. But if YOU would also drop andy a note that would help the process. I believe his email is Aedelman@mthtrains.com
