MTH Proto 2 5.0V board replacement help

In general the 5v board cannot be repaired.  Pick one of the people on the forum.  Personally, I have used GGG and been very satisfied.  Having said that, there are a number of very good techs on the forum, just contact them and pick one.

The general replacement for the 5V board is the PS32 board with the 5V connectors. This is a PS/3 board that has firmware to emulate the PS/2 boards.

The PS32 5V board has the same set of connectors as the 5V PS/2 board with the exception of the battery connection, the battery required on the PS32 board.

I have these boards in stock if you need a replacement for your dead 5V board set.

How much does the replacement board cost to replace a blown 5v board? And is it a plug and play drop in, or, is there a lot of soldering, and wiring diagrams to follow, etc..? If it is a complicated process, what is the ballpark installed price for a steamer?

It varies on item, but board, speaker and hardware kit for the change.  Can be straight forward, or require some custom work to install.  Sometimes wire extended.  So parts and labor which is tech dependent on labor and sometimes parts.  G
