Planning for a Christmas tree train and was looking to make a nice big O54 circle using MTH Realtrax.  Seems simple enough, but I can't confirm if you can put the lockon on a curve section of track, or if you have to have a straight section to use their lockon.

Oh and how are these circle diameters measured in O scale?  From the center of track or from the outer edge?

Yes, you can install the lock-on on the curved track.  The only issue is if you are running locos with a long overhang where the pilot may hit the lantern you may want to install it on the inside curve, but if running long passenger cars, the center of the car may hit the lantern when installed on an inside curve.  In any event, you can remove the lantern and bulb if they hit on either side.

From what I recall, the diameter is measured from the center rail.
