Mth windows substitution?

Many times you can use clear plastic from packaging. I have made windows from tops of take out food containers, or clear packaging on items bought from the store. The type of packaging I am thinking of has a cardboard back with advertising, the item on top of that, and a clear vacuum formed cover over that.

When installing the new windows, use canopy glue, which dries clear.

I've used the clear plastic cover from a Christmas card box.  

Always use anything but super glue when working with windows if possible.  You received it that way and keep us posted how you did with your replacements and what you used.

I have a Scotch thermal laminating machine to laminate my car registrations etc. I save the left overs for windows and a base for figures.

You can also get clear acetate or overhead transparency sheets from an art or office supply store.

Kristal Klear is better than Krazy Glue , superglue, etc.(CA) , as it dries clear.

For those living in colder climates, Walmart and the big box stores carry a window insulation kit consisting of thin transparent plastic film and 1/2 wide thin double sided tape.  Duck Brand is the current Walmart product.  I believe 3M introduced the product in the early to mid 80s.  Been around a long time though improvements in window technology have virtually eliminated condensation from new windows.

The tape is sold separately for a few dollars given that a kit for 10 windows including 168 feet  of the 1/2 tape retails for USD $12.95 

Tape is very very thin, adheres to most surfaces and pulls off for example, painted molding without damaging the surface.  A sharp xacto knife etc. can be used to cut tape pieces into 1/4" wide or narrower strips.  

I have used it to adhere plastic/acetate windows to plastic diesels.
