Hello All,

The power connection(s) to the rails of my Atlas turntable suddenly failed the other day, and no amount of tinkering or adjusting would resolve the problem.  I checked the forum and found references to a newer model and some potential replacement parts, but wanted to give it some thought and see what I could up with.

So it became clear that the problem was the little plunger style bearings... the spring in one had permanently "collapsed" enough so that the pin on the end was no longer making contact with the metal strip at the top / bottom of the cylindrical channel.

In the end, I was able to resolve the problem using bits of spring cut from the spring in an old ink pen and some electrically conductive grease.  The spring bit must be pushed down the cylinder until it touches the metal strip (evenly... keep it level as it goes down), and applying the grease not only improves the connection, but also serves to keep the bearing from falling out when you turn the turntable tray over again (which is very irritating)!

It does take some patience to figure out how much spring to use, and you do have to keep at it until you get continuity between the bearing ends and the tracks, but so far so good!

I thought this was worth sharing... I hope it proves useful to someone!

Stay safe and healthy!!

Alan
