Natural White LED source

Have you tried bright white? I think most here feel that warm white is good for steam, but bright white looks better for diesels.

Seems like everyone's idea of White or Bright White winds up being Cool White which is what I don't want.

So I am thinking that the cool white is too blue for your tastes? I bought a bunch of 3 and 5 mm led lots of 100 each in both warm white and bright white on ebay back a couple of years ago. I am not sure there is a real difference from bright white to cool white, probably depends on the seller. But the bright white looks good to my eye for diesel headlights and especially ditch lights.

Here is an illustration of the three white LEDs:

We have Cool White at the left
followed by Natural/Pure White in the middle (this one is left over from a PS3 upgrade kit)
and finally Warm White at the right

The cool is too blue and the warm is too yellow but the natural white is perfect

You can find them on Amazon (of course).  Virtually any color, 100 pieces with resistors for about $7.

Dan, I played the Amazon "Pay & Pray" game. I wound up with a lot of cool & warm white LEDs that were supposed to be pure white. I am currently checking with Digikey & Mouser
