Hello again,

I have been approached to buy an unbuilt CLW FA-1 / FB-1 set of Brass Section 1/2 Kits that are missing both the printed Instructions and parts lists.  As a result I'm trying to determine which of these Kit's brass parts may be missing, but finding copies of the original Instructions and Parts List is difficult.

As a result, I'm trying to find and download an online set of Central Locomotive Works (CLW) FA-1 / FB-1 Build Instructions & Parts List for these Brass Kits in PDF format...  Do you know where I can find these CLW FA-1/FB-1 Section 1 and Section 2 Kits instructions / parts lists?  My Google searches for Central Locomotive Works (CLW) FA-1 / FB-1 info on any Internet websites have no relevant results .

It is strange and concerning how Google limits, ignores, or discards older currently available website information, yet Google claims their online search results can be better and more relevant than going to a public library... For the past 5+ years Google only seems to list "paid" websites for search results and ignores smaller websites that may have older, obscure, or infrequent access files.

IMHO, it is too bad there is still not a central location or clearinghouse on the Internet for model builders information, instructions, parts lists, etc. for vintage model locomotives, cars, etc...  I realize that the NMRA sent much of its models information printed listings to be managed and placed online by Kalmbach Publishing.  However, I am unaware where this Kalmbach project currently stands or if that NMRA model info is currently available...

Original Post

Unknown to me prior to my post, the NMRA online magazine migration & index project has moved forward.

The finished NMRA project results will eventually link NMRA printed articles to Kalmbach Publishing online magazine databases and enable all RR modelers quick and easy access to hard-to-find articles and information.

An NMRA webpage now exists that enables an online topic search of NMRA articles with month/day listings at

http://www.olimpia.com:8084/showMagazine?mag_id=90

At the present time, this search index shows up to 1000 search results "hits", but is not currently linked to also display the matching magazine article...

Regards, Steve
