Hello Guys, I got this engine upgraded to PS 3,and upon opening it up,I discovered one of the articulating arms that go into the valve casting had broken away from the casting that the driverods go into.

Fed Ex must have really threw this one around for this to happen!

The articulated arm itself suffered no damage, but I may need the screw that goes into the valve casting also.

I was so upset,I have not tried to unscrew it from the piece of the casting that broke off onto it.

I sure hope I can get this casting from MTH,or another source, otherwise I am SOL.

I am pretty sure MTH used this same casting on all of the Premier Big Boys, and it is a seperate casting from the actual shell.

Any MTH tech should have access to a exploded diagram of this Big Boy,or the Premier Big Boy line.

This train is a Original Protosound model, that is why I chose to upgrade it to Protosound 3.0

This Model# is MT-3021LP. Probably the first Premier Big Boy made (my guess) I sure hope they used the same die on the rest of the Premier Big Boy models.

Repairing this with JB Weld has crossed my mind, but this is such an important part in the movement of the model,I doubt ANYTHING would hold this, and the massive weight of this model.

Any suggestions or part numbers or ideas of how to make this work again great fully appreciated.-Kenny2B34E12D-5C3A-43B9-A56D-F85F5B546207644656F1-DD33-4BD9-98F4-1DCB5910999859D19DAB-914C-48E0-A4D9-0505C605982C09263323-3590-42F9-BA7E-573BC1C9F9CF8839C1D3-8AF3-42A2-B77F-0D67C13FB1C2386333E6-F3BA-4EA8-AF62-3615FEB7705D5D93E4EB-AF13-4418-AA7A-A6EF0F5DDE5B

I just did a check on the MTH tech order site and it shows it as available.

Hi Marty, Is (45) Bracket-1110026(right) the part I need to fix this? Will I have to take off the front pilot to get to it?-Thanks,Kenny

From your photo, it looks to like all you need to do is move the front engine over to where you can get a screwdriver in there.
