WOW Look at the Muffin Mans Layout!!!
And HIS "Wall of Trains!"
I wonder how many Heir Kite kits did it take to make that Dairy plant [Behind the roundhouse]?
What's that cut off "Grey Building" mid right photo?
And are those multiple "Disney main street station" kits to make that Train terminal upper right of the photo?
Inquiring minds want to know! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2r3Xs9sBEVg
Good to see this happening. Hope you get the orders to proceed. I think these custom runs provide increased enthusiasm for the hobby amongst the most committed individuals.
Steve,

My mistake, already pointed out to me by my pal Lee ten seconds after posting. I wasn’t counting the UP B since it was really offered to complete my AA set, but, yes, that makes nine.

Thank you. Eight Disney kits to make the station complex. We are building another one for the left side. The gray building is a Diesel engine shed made for me by Bridge Boss. He sells them too. Yes, they dairy plant is made out of DPM walls and there are a lot of them. A loading dock on the back with a dozen or so milk trucks. And that wall of trains is double sided. There’s another twenty feet to the ceiling on the right up front, plus behind the photographer.

Thank you.
That Amtrak set is looking painfully attractive. Humm.
I'm really happy that Mr. Muffin (and others to a lesser extent) are working with Lionel to produce these limited runs. As said above, it does increase enthusiasm in our hobby. Thanks.
Very thankful for the projects offered! I tend to collect what I can from UP and the Milwaukee Road. I've ordered the E9 set x2, the E9 SuperBass module x2 and the yellow Milwaukee Road E7s. Looking forward to their arrival in the future.

Five Amtrak’s left. I didn’t know nothing about these Amtrak units and we had a customer figure out what he wanted and send it to us. Pretty cool. Will be a sell out.
I was considering getting one of these engines in NYC but, maybe now I will spring for the NKP one..
Any word on color scheme?
Edit for clarification: The 4-6-0, thought I would clarify. :-)

Get the Amtrak, I'm the customer who talked him into it.
Preordered the IRR 2-8-8-2.

Super Pumped about the UP B Unit! Got mine ordered to go with the As! 😎
Hopefully something someday in EL transition
Just received the MTH-RK CB&Q depressed flat cars with NASA rockets from Mr Muffin. Thank you!!!
How did you come up with the nick name "Mr Muffin" ?

The E7B looks different than an E9B. If the custom run will look like the E7 B units in the newest catalog it will not match the window shape and side grills of the UP E9 AA custom run.
Ordered the Milw Rd AA. Been looking for a set in the UP colors.

I painted it, but the engine doesn't belong to me, it is the property of the Virginia Museum of Transportation. My paint job is based on the photo you see above and I am very certain Lionel will do a much better job.

Horseshoecurve, the photo - while very nice - really doesn’t do justice to the magnificence of the layout and enormity of the collection. You really should buy one (or more) of the new custom runs and mark it for pickup instead of delivery! I promise you’ll love your visit to the store and layout. There are no finer people than Steve and Liz and they do a wonderful job of hosting guests.

Hi.
Any thoughts about doing a custom run option to add a trailing "UP City Of LA " A unit to complete an A-B-A E-7 consist.
I have an old MTH A-B-A E-6 City Of LA set this would look great next to.
Thanks very much,
Bill
some really fantastic offerings here!
Those GM&O E units should be beauties!
please add a super bass B unit to the Lionel 21330MILW - Legacy E7 AA Diesel Set "Milwaukee Road" #17A/#18B. otherwise we will never see one from lionel. i would think every order for the AA units would be a customer for the B units. and thanks for doing this.
Nice runs. The E units are too large for my use, though. If those GM&Os had been done as F-3s or F-7s, I'd have been in for a set.
Steve what's the ETA for various items?
Thanks!
😎
If it was Mrs. Muffin taking the picture Saturday July 18, I was in the room but there trying to stay out of the picture. Trip stop on my way to Bloomington, IN, bought an MTH smoking tank car at the store.

Mr. Muffin did a special run of GM&O F units several years ago--though I don't recall the mfr. Perhaps he can hook you up with a set @a.sam has a set.

what are you going to run them with?

Thanks for the information. I know @a.sam has the Atlas O version, though, which, as he'll tell you, are impossible to find.
Regarding Mr. Muffin, you may be thinking of a special run idea he floated for Lionel GM&O PAs back in 2018. These were never produced.

I'm sure I was a subscriber to your e-mails, but realize now I haven't seen one in a month or so. Just resubscribed.
The T1 Reading from Steamtown PA is gorgeous and super tempting

I'm sure Mr. Muffin did a custom run of GM&O F units because I asked him if his B units lacked the middle, third porthole as a cost-saving move--he said it was. I also questioned the upper gold stripe at his A unit's nose which was applied with a curve unlike any prototype photo I'd seen. He replied that the curved stripe was based on prototype photos.
This discussion took place here at OGR.
Hope you locate a set.

Harold - all I know for sure is the first half of 2021... once the preorders are in, Lionel knows the counts, and then sets the schedule....

Tell you what, if we get close to enough orders for the Milw AA, I will ask Lionel for the Milw SuperBass B
Here's the deal on the Union Pacific 963b.... I have been educated by several guys.... The original 963 was an E7B..... The UP's 970 B was an E8B and it was sold, ended up at Amtrak, and then the UP bought it back, added it to the AA's as 963b. I am working with Lionel to see what options we have. The do have enough preorders of the 963 E7b to make it - that's the good news.... more on this as it develops.
