no tach in kit?

I just got a couple of G gauge kits. One of them is missing the tach reader in the seven wire harness? There's only four wires. Has anyone seen this? The seller said he would fix it. It seems odd and uncomfortable that I'd even have to ask him. Maybe they're slave harnesses?? Why else would MTH leave them off?
