Since I may have an oppurtunity to replace the die cast body from a Williams GG1, I may be looking to repaint the damaged one as a North Pole Central to pull the eight reindeer cars...

Does anyone have any thoughts as to which scheme I would choose? I'm thinking the Amtrak bloody nose; keep the platinum mist and red, and just use green instead of blue, or how about all red, with the PRR single wide stripe in white and large white NPC oval on the side mid unit?

You guys and girls with the fancy drawing programs... Let's see some ideas.

Wouldn't the Amtrak bloody nose scheme now become the NPC Rudolph scheme?

Thanks,
Mario

If you want to pull the NPC "reindeer" cars, I'd paint it in a NYC "lightning stripe" scheme kind of like a combination of the schemes on the photos I've linked to on the railpictures.net web site:

The first photo is a NYC P2a in the "lightning stripe" scheme.

The second photo is a NYC F3 in the "lightning stripe" scheme.

The third photo is a PRR GG1 in the 5 stripe scheme.

I'd do a lightning stripe kind of like the NYC F3, but double ended like on the P2a. The "NORTH POLE CENTRAL" lettering and engine numbers would below the stripe. The NPC logo would be on both ends in the same location as the PRR keystone on the GG1. You could add a NPC logo on either side at the center of the locomotive above the lightning stripe like the PRR keystone on the GG1.

The locomotive color would be red to match the passenger cars, and the "lightning stripe" would be green to match the passenger car. Lettering and numbers would be white.

I'd buy a candy cane striped one in a heart beat! A set of candy cane striped passenger cars behind it would look really cool! And putting a Christmas wreath on the nose would be nice too. In fact I just remembered i have a stripped Williams GG1 shell I was saving to do a Santa Fe warbonnet scheme on but the candy cane is also a possibility.

Can we get anyone to draw us out a candy cane striped theme, either similar to the new RMT PRR "buy war bonds" paint scheme or a CN-type (with flat green on the noses for anti-glare) with red / white on the sides, or possibly close to the existing Lionelville Peppermint company tank car.

Darn nice...

Then we can get the outlaw painter, Josie Wales to paint them up for us...  Make mine unit #1225, please.
