Well, if you are not too picky, and there are those of you that ain't, I picked up a toy train off Amazon for $23. I liked the way the coaches looked. I took a chance, and they are S Gauge. Notice I didn't say S Scale, as they are undersized. Some times you luck out and find S sized toys. Though the tender might pass as a rather small engine's tender.
Comes with a battery powered 0-8-0 with flashing red LED in the middle of the smokebox for some strange reason. It has sound!
So, if you want to unleash battery powered mayhem on your layout, this is just the thing. Keep your Flyercheif out of it's way. Or any other control system of choice. The set don't care, the wheel sets are all plastic. Though the plastic wheels have a nice profile, and should track on hirail layouts just fine. It does come with it's own plastic oval as well. (And a couple trees.)

So if you want to get into S in the worst way, I can't think of anything worse than this.
