I just received notification that the NS Full Dome cars have been shipped and should arrive 1-12-2018.   I thank NS Corporation for sending me a 6"x6" steel plate freshly painted in NS Tuscan Red for Golden Gate to use to match the color.

For those that have gave me a commitment so we could have the cars done please contact me so we can work out the details and get you your car.   I'm very excited to see mine and the Great Northern Empire Builder I ordered.

This warms me seeing my heat pump was pronounced DOA Wednesday and new system to be put in Tuesday.........Everybody stay warm and safe!!!!NS 24 Delaware full dome

Got the Amtrak “Great Dome” passenger car by UPS today. Being a brass car, it is noticeably heavier than the aluminum Santa Fe Hi-level cars but having the ball bearing journals, the cars roll smoothly, finding low spots on my table, even when left undisturbed, like my freight cars with Protocraft 100-ton trucks.

This is my second Golden Gate Depot passenger car & I must say that the passenger figures in my cars are dressed rather too nicely. Having dropped off friends & family at local Amtrak stations, I don’t remember seeing passengers dressed so well.

These are just my opinion,

Thanks,

Naveen

Any markers installed on the end bulkheads? That's what the picture shows in the announcement.

If you were looking for marker lights at the ends of the Amtrak car, mine didn’t have them but I had come across photos of the prototype car with & without these.

If Scott would have kept the modern paint scheme, shown in the initial announcement, then these marker lights would have been mandatory. But I remember seeing online photos on this car from the 70’s without these lights but some from the late 90’s looked like they had these lights.

I would have preferred the as-announced newer paint scheme but it was not a deal-breaker for me. I just love double-decker cars. Maybe some or all of the other 5 hobbyists who convinced Scott to choose the older paint scheme to match the previous Amtrak offerings from Golden Gate Depot preferred this version without marker lights.

These are just my opinion,

Thanks,

Naveen

Naveen, is your bottom interior correct by being even and straight? Mine arrived last night. I inspected the car this morning and left a message with GGD voice mail. My bottom interior is bowed up along with one of the roller bearings is not staying in it's side frame.

Mine is the 2-rail version & the bearings stay in the trucks & the lower level floor appears flat. This car met my expectations & I am happy with it.

These are just my opinion,

Thanks,

Naveen
