Just a quick peek.  We are waiting on a 3rd party Lego compatible roller coaster to go in the center section.  The "freight" area allows our granddaughter to unload the crates and put other things onboard.  The various ride are remotely controlled.  Hopefully early September the roller coaster will be in and we can add details.

I think the Lego items go nicely with the O gauge trains. I have thought about that myself as my grandson is quite a Lego builder and loves the Lego stuff. I will be watching for pictures of your Lego roller coaster, please post plenty when it arrives! Sounds like a really nice addition to your layout, especially if your granddaughter really enjoys it!! I enjoy just sitting back and watching the grand kids play with the train stuff here. Better than playing with them myself.

On a side note here, we had the World's Greatest Hobby show visit here a year or two ago. There was a guy that had some fascinating Lego stuff. He had a massive setup at the show. One of the things he had was a pneumatically operated container freight loader/unloader (I believe it was) that even had small little Lego air compressors for the pneumatic system. Never seen anything like it before and had no idea they even made things like that. No idea where he got them? His display was so crowded I never got close enough to ask him about all of the things he had.

I heard the company was having problems. Kinda hard to believe. I have a relative that collects lego, a bit of foaming there too. Most layouts would take up far less room.

They would have to be stupid to tank the company full with such a hadcore base, hopefully they just downsize. They are an important learning toy IMO, unfortunate more parents don't see that anymore.

I dont recall having more than a tin with a few pictures to build off, let alone specialized kits. But the accumulation of tins was huge. I had to use brick trapped tinker toys for wheels and gears till I could manage Erector Sets nuts and bolt....and then I couldn't care less about the others

I did have a toy rivet gun that spun fasteners till they melted and managed to attach a toy pull-back cars frame to a long Lego plate with it. It was still in "Grandmas toy box" last I looked
