Mother-in-law born in North Bay, Ontario where we spend our summers on a beautiful lake, so I have an Ontario Northland theme (alas the railway no longer exists).

Sure it does.... It still  serves Northern Ontario, However traffic  heading south of North Bay is and was always  handled by CN  o r CP via   the ONR's  transfer yard at North bay on Lake  Ni****ing .  ( lumber & paper).  The ore train out of the north  which I worked for years   between ONR's  transfer yard and Hamilton is unfortunately done.  At one time a 100 car train of ore from the north  went to Pittsburgh PA.   (or someplace south of the border).   all done.

 Ok Lake N -I-P-I-S-S-I-N-G.    It's not a swear word.

Gregg,

Glad the railway this exists. I must be thinking about the passenger service from NB south to Toronto.  So my Ontario Northland freight rolling stock still a real thing!  Always liked the color scheme.

And yes, NB is on Lake Nip****ing, but our cottage is on a small adjacent lake, Trout Lake.  Don't ask if it still has any trout.

This VIA Rail 'Canadian' consist is an honorary member of my NY&LB roster due to a couple of outstanding trips on the Canadian, Toronto to Jasper. MTH PS

Love the idea of a Via Rail "Canadian" in O  gauge, but notice only the HO scale one is correct. Via Rail did not use Pullman cars, they used old Canadian Pacific Budd company cars. MTH just slapped Via livery on their Pullman molds. I would have bought a set by now, but it just bothers me too much! Nice layout though...

I agree Greg! The set was ordered by my LHS from the catalog, and it wasn't 'till I got it home I noticed they weren't correct. But they'll do...

It is frustrating that MTH doesn't really pay attention to detail, but I suppose that's the nature of the business. Like my Jersey Central & PRR Madison consists with 6-wheel trucks instead of 4-wheel.

But I have fun anyway!

This is the one engine that took me longer to find than any other. The non-powered one will continue to reside in my display case. I use the powered one to pull my MTH Premier Via Rail passenger consist.

It's hard to believe but I found it on the big audit site's Australian counterpart.

Hi again, I'm pleased you are happy with your purchase. They are very handsome locos, I'm actually just starting to build my new layout today.
