Yesterday while showing the trains to family a <P> symbol appeared on the top line of my handheld. I believe it happened after the remote brushed my sweater. Trains still run fine, but I am unable to remove and do not know what it is for. I scanned my copy of the DCS Companion, 3rd Edition but could not find an answer.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Bill,

I scanned my copy of the DCS Companion, 3rd Edition but could not find an answer.

The answer is in the book - for sure!

It sounds as if you may have triggered a Playback session, as described on page 52 of The DCS Companion 3rd Edition:

RECORD/ PLAYBACK:

To play back a session, first ensure that all engines that participate in the session are in their initial starting positions, and that all switch tracks are properly oriented

• Navigate to the RECORD/PLAYBACK menu and press soft key S4 ( PLY) to play back a session. The available sessions are displayed

• Use the thumbwheel to scroll to one of the Session Names and press the thumbwheel to select the session for playback

The Engine Control Screen is displayed with a (P) to the right to indicate that a session is being played back

• The session plays back as it was recorded

• To play back a session continuously, instead of pressing soft key S4 (PLY) press soft key S5 (LOP) for looped playback

• When the session is completed, or when you desire to end the session, return to the RECORD/PLAYBACK Control Screen and press soft key S2 (STP) to stop the playback
