I just wanted to thank forum member skylar for introducing me to his application which allows you to run your layout from a PC.  There have been a number of posts recently about development efforts for operation using an iPhone, etc.  As with most topics these days there appears a wide range of positive and negative comments about using these kinds of devices to help run a layout. Admittedly, command control is not for everyone and command control using devices like an iPhone or PC is also not for everyone.

I especially like skylar's solution as it provides me the additional functionality of using a PC and its associated larger screen that I can't have with an iphone.  I use both TMCC and MTH and they work great.  But sometimes I find the smaller DCS handheld screen a little tough for me to use.   Having the ability to point and click  basic functions displayed on a PC screen is just a whole lot easier for me.  What I also find appealing is that I can still run things using the handheld or simply run my favorite PW in conventional.

While this system still requires a DCS TIU and handheld remote, it does open up an additional method for enjoying my trains using DCS.  Thanks again to skylar for sharing his knowledge and helping me get it going.

Thanks,

Ed

It is a program developed by forum member skylark and It is used in conjunction with CTI Train Brain software and a hardware interface box.  I wish I could expound better itself it's  capabilities but I am brand new to it and just beginning to get my feet wet.  I do know that as technology challenged as I am the fact that I was able to fire up the DCS, then the PC and click on an engine and it started immediately says something about it.  I know there is a lot of functionality built into it and a few different methods for operating your trains.  If you are interested then I would suggest you contact skylar and he can fill you on the details.  You will find him extremely friendly and helpful.
