Monon

C420_Monoon_0257

Wow, Ray, is that the special run C420 from Mr Muffin's.  They sure came out beautiful, how does it handle'....

Actually I bought this from someone on the forum quite a while ago, already had the D&H and Nickel Plate and was very impressed at the way they run. Handles great with lots of power.

I was under the impression these just arrived in November, at Mr. Muffin's trains, in Indiana, and were a special run of 25 units low or high hood C-420s.  I had one ordered, but Steve and I had a disagreement, and he canceled  my order.  I was disappointed as I really wanted one of these Monons...  They look better that I thought they would.. The gold and black on a C420 makes a good looking loco even look better'..

Photo Chain Game

Here is an activity that should be fun, easy, and low stress. All it requires is that you can post photos; and use a little creative imagination.

Each time that you visit this thread take a look at the most recent photo posted.  Then post a photo that has something similar in it.  Use your stored photos, or take a photo that has a similar element.  This will create a link in the chain of photos. In one word, or take several if necessary, name the element in your photo that can be found in the previous photo.

As an example:

If this were the most recent photo, you might identify one element of it and post this:

(with the caption)

Steam engine.

(The next entry could be.)

Street Light

Some suggested guidelines:

Be sure that the photo is yours (no borrowing from someone else’s site or Google Images)

Please try to post photos of items that are yours or were yours.

There has to be at least one entry between any entry that you make and the next one that you make.  So: Joe can make a post, but he has to wait for someone else (Moe?) to make a post before he makes a new link in the chain, using an element from Moe’s post.

Let’s try to keep all photos in the realm of model trains.  While I am starting this in the Tinplate forum, because that is where I hang out, anyone from any forum or gauge or era, illustrating any manufacturer or handmade element can contribute.

Please be sure that captions are brief, and that every post has a photo in it.

If you have a question or a comment about a post try to keep it brief, or start a new thread with a copy of the photo about which you have a question, and then ask the question.  (We’ll see if this guideline works)

The goal is to keep the chain going without any breaks

Be creative in your links.

Most of all, let's have fun.

I will start the fun with this photo:

Fellas- A reminder of the "rules" of the game that Greg started over 70 pages ago.

I hate to be one of those guys who has to post comments about posts, but.....the side chatter and repeating of previous posts messes up the game here. Please try and stay on point.

Don't shoot me either....sorry.

Guys, I've seen a lot of posts recently where people are just picking shots before the previous one.

As I understand it, the whole point is to post only something you can find from the shot before the one you're posting.

If it's become a 'thing' that we can just pick and chose which photo we're going to 'answer', I don't think I'll be posting on this thread much anymore.

I’m with Lee on this. There are at least two today alone. I also try to have a picture with a variety of items that can be picked out for the next poster to zero in on. I really enjoy this thread, especially the challenge to hone in on an obscure item that I have and can use for the next post. Let’s put some effort into this and keep it going.
