I have a collection to sell and as I'm going through it, I happened to find an early 6511 with die cast plates that has glossy paint.  There was no original box with it but it does have original pipes with it.  I tried looking for this variation in the different Lionel guides but was unable to find anything that made any mention of a glossy variation.  Anyone out there have one or heard of one?

The one on top looks like a variation "B" - red flatcar.
The one on the bottom looks like a variation "A" - brick colored flatcar.

I cannot tell from pictures, I'd have to see the car in person.

The glossy appearance might be factory, might be from someone cleaning up the car. I think I may see some signs of paint oxidation on the bracing on the underside of the car. Someone may have polished the car to protect or improve the finish.
