Hello..!  Last layout I used  the first generation hand held cab-1  system  GREAT for my TMCC installed PWC 's   , Nw want to use it for both TMCC equiped and Old non type.

This Time I am going to make a layout and use my postwar trains  and want to use  item 12867  to operate them on my new layput..

The new layout will be 6 foot  x 9 foot  I know this item is the Good unit But will it operate  on this size of layout I figure I am going to have at least  (up to) 10 switches  .

Also I have a F# with two motors and dummy with  4 passenger 2500 series cars on it..

Thanks for the info,,, and recommendations...DANiel

It should run it fine. I use the 6-12867 for all my loops of track. (1 per Loop).

Be advised that the unit is only for use with 135 watt power sources:

From Lionel's web site:

"Allows operation of conventional locomotives not equipped with TCC. Designed for use with the 135 watt PowerHouse Transformer. Even if you operate only TCC equipped locomotives, the PowerMaster provides the convenience of a remote controlled circuit breaker and power switch.

thanks for that Info!  my intention is either having two KW or one zw (or two )  maybe a with a Lw.

I thoughrt I read before this 135 will work with any of the postwar transfers

My "new " ? is will the cab -1      make the postwar horn work with the button on it

when It is running.  And if I put a new Lionel conventional engine on it will the whistle button and the horn button work  ,,(with out adding those diodes  on the track)  .Thanks again ! ..DANiel

Daniel,

Exactly what equipment do you have?

To use the Powermaster with your conventional engines you will need to have the TMCC Cab-1 (handheld unit).

The 135W powermaster (hooked up to an appropriate transformer set to max. voltage) will respond to the handheld unit and raise and lower the voltage to your track without the command base component for conventional equipment.

The horn and bell buttons on the handheld unit should operate your engines horns, whistles and bells.

When you say: " Only thing I have  is the Lionel TMCC reciever part  no cab-1 " do you mean you have the command base component?

Please tell us what you have.

Mark

Only thing I have now is the base (1L)  for the TMCC,  I plan on buying the rst  ( cab -1... and this time what I did not have a powermaster  , to run my postwar engines and the CC remakes.. also I want to run some TMCC equipped engines .. BUT I did not want to buy or spend more than I have to ..

But do not want to regret buying something that does not work for my new 6x9 layout..Thanks DANiel

How about the exact model number of what you have?
