I obtained this in a box of junk. It was missing pick up rollers. I obtained a set on the bay and installed them but they don't always make contact with the center rail. I'll pry them down and they're good for a few laps but then it starts stalling on switches again. Amy tips? Is this typical of these? They're already showing some pitting. Otherwise it's pretty smooth

I just did one not to long ago. Remove the roller plate(one screw on end) and you will see a copper strip that puts pressure on the pickup rollers. The copper strip crimps on plastic post you may need to pinch the copper grips so it holds then add a glue I used silicone. Also you should clean all the contact areas.
