Promise kept, pictures of the layout progress

After years of reading posts on this forum, I recently made my first post. It was to help resolve an issue I was having with one of my MTH original Proto Sound F3s. And I again thank all that did help get to a solution. I ended up posting a couple of pictures and was asked to show more so here goes.

This layout was finally started because I was on furlough from work when the pandemic started. I had the materials there and now finally time to build it.

Rich,

the layout is basically an “L” with a center section to park the passenger sets. It is 30’ long with one end 12’ and the other at 18’. Track is all Gargraves, including the switches. The outer loop is 72” curves while the inner is 63”. The outer loop has my Challenger and Big Boy on sidings. All switches are manually controlled. I went real basic as most of my engines are Protosound 1. One Z4000 powers the two mainlines, and use the remote Z4001 to control the tracks so I walk the length of the layout as needed.  There is a point to point track that parallels the mainline and a Z750 powers that.
