Jeff, I have a friend who did two with ERR.  I ran them and was also very impressed.  The ERR is a great product.  What I like about the scale Williams Hudsons is the stong, befy valve gear and side rods.  Very similar to old Lionel parts.

Anyone who wants a command scale Hudson for very short money should not overlook the Williams with DCS or ERR installed.

Marty,

I am currently working on a early version of a MTH Premier C&O Allegeheny with Protosounds, that I am upgrading with ERR's command equipment. I bought the DC commander with the articulated sounds for it. This was my first ERR product and so far I like it. I have done a bunch of engines in the past with Train America's boards especially Mike's SAW board that was one of my favorites. I am planning on upgrading that ATSF Proto engine I was talking to you about the other night with ERR's equipment also.

Try the ERR Cruise Commander, I like it's operation better than the EOB boards.  I have some EOB equipped locomotives, but I get better results with the ERR cruise.

The Cruise Commander works great.  And, if you have a TMCC engine with the modular electronics and DC motors, the Cruise Commander M is a great replacement for the DCDR board, gives you cruise in those as well.  All my TMCC stuff that I could convert has the Cruise Commander M, and anything that the Cruise Commander would fit into gets that during the conversion.

I am actually waiting on an MTH PS2 upgrade kit for a steamer, so that will be an interesting effort.

The Cruise Command M for existing TMCC installations is a piece of cake to install.  If you're doing the full conversion from conventional, it's a bit more work, but not bad.  Steamers are more complicated than diesels, you have to deal with the tether and chuff switch for a steamer.

I typically spend most of my time working on the custom lighting for a conversion of a diesel, the actual board installation is trivial.
