My wife found a Premier PS2 0-8-0 southern steamer. Guy said the sound didn't work and that it need a new wire harness. So she got it for me in the hopes I could fix it. Turns out to be a little bit more than just a harness. I do not run DCS, only conventional for the time being. I turn it n the power and it just sizzles. So I open up the tender and half of one of the wires is all burnt up. Anyway I started disconnecting components until I narrowed it down to what was buzzing. Ended up being a circuit board. Its two pieces and the one on top makes it buzz. I am new to the hobby. I am a paratrooper at Fort Bragg so I picked up the hobby to help me relax. I am willing to spend money to fix it.  Pictured below is the board that I believe is the problem and the burnt up wire. Any help in getting it fixed would be appreciated. Thank you.

That looks like the ground wire.  I can test and repair the board.  If the ground wire was shorted to Chassis AC that may have damaged the board permanently, but I can test and tell.  Otherwise it might be repairable.

That is a PS-2 3V board set.  Need to try and figure out what happen.  Pinched wire under shell is a usual culprit.  G
