I'm finally getting my butt in gear to work on what will be my year-round, all-tinplate layout. I have decided to expand the layout a bit in length and incorporate my MTH **** Gate bridge, which has been boxed up and stored with too many other trains over the past few years. I figure no tinplate layout is truly complete without at least one **** Gate Bridge!

My question is, will Lionel FasTrack slide under the built-in tabs on this bridge? I have FasTrack available, and I also have 3-foot lengths of conventional Lionel O gauge track (I know there are FasTrack-to-O31 adapters available). I can, of course, try things out myself, but thought I might ask what some of you more experienced folks have done with this bridge.

Fastrack roadbed is about 1/4" wider than MTH. If your bridge is built like the MTH two track steel arch bridge, no.  I just tried it and Fastrack will not go in, but interestingly enough, the short approaches, Fastrack will, but only until it hits the plastic section connector along the sides where the edges of the roadbed slide.  You could always dedicate a long section for the bridge and shave the edges off the roadbed.  The probably won't be seen if as on the arch bridge, the walkways cover the edges. One other thing, I found that I need at least one straight section leading into and out of the bridge or on long steam locos, the cab will hit the sides if you have a curve leading out.  The pilot seems to handle it OK though.

Allan, apparently that should be the Heck Gate bridge to get by the bad word checker.

Apparently so, John! Just goes to show how truly dumb these automated things can be. Almost as bad as the Facebook and other social media site censors who often don't know what they H&*#. . .heck . . . they are even referring to, and/or have no conception of the meaning of context.
