GunrunnerJohn, your video of the Horseshoe Curve reminds me of fishing. You may have to wait a very long time before anything thrilling happens. That's one reason I fished for a very short time and stopped 20 years ago.
I think I prefer Railfanning from home more than Railfanning with real trains.
Now if only model train manufacturers could make the floor tremble and shake in our basements and attics when we experience all the train sounds and smoke there. Common, Lionel and MTH, you can do it! LOL, Arnold
When I'm at my computer, I sometimes just fire that up on the second monitor full screen and then just work until some action happens.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how many trains a day on average pass through Horseshoe Curve? If there is such a thing as an "average" day there.
Yes, I am more of a railfan model operator than an operations oriented operator. Let's see what I can find, since my layout building is in disarray right now.

Thanks John. Didn't know that live feed existed. I've been there a few times and from ground level, I didn't know the Geep has an oxide red roof.

i often use my desk top computer to monitor Norfolk Southern radio chatter from Fallston, PA (west of Conway Yard) as I do my train work. Something a scanner can't do from 30 miles away.

When I started this post, I had no idea that real railfanning of real trains could be done from home. Very cool.
