RailKing to Just Plug?

Bought a RailKing lighted billboard (first time) and didn't know they attach to the RailKing transformer. I thought it would just plug in...anyway....My transformer is an old American Flyer. Do you think I can snip the end of a Just Plug extention cable and wire the billboard wires to that pluging it into my Just Plug hub? 14 volts needed for the billboard and a dimmer knob on the Just Plug.
