Hello,
I have the locomotives below each with "Railsounds I" I'm interested in finding what I need to buy and install to upgrade to realistic digital sounds of newer systems.  I operate with conventional transformers only.

Go to ERR's website - The New Railsounds Commander is  a stand alone sound system that can be used with or without TMCC; it can be used with conventional - both DC can motors and AC universal (Pullmore) motors. Yes, Boxcar Bill is a very reputable distributor as well. Even though i am a distributor as well, i have purchased from Bill when i was in a jam and needed something for a customer in a rush.

Just did a Collector's Gallery review of the 1990-1991 Lionel B6 switcher in the April/May issue of OGR and I thought the early RailSounds installed in it reproduced excellent digital sound. If you can live without the later CrewTalk and TowerCom announcements, I would be inclined to run it, "as is".

I was happily surprised at the sound quality of the one I tested, especially since it was literally one of the first units Lionel installed in a steam locomotive.

The Digital Edition of OGR also features the RailSounds unit of the B6 in action.  If you get the Digital Edition I think you will like what you hear.
