Hi all,
for those who have played with RCM2 boards, I have two questions -
1. Do they output serial data (for Railsounds) on pin 7 like their ERR mini commander 2 cousins?
2. What is the purpose and appropriate value for the additional cap on the -101 and -103 parts?

Yes, the serial data is exactly the same. The RCM2 boards are typically a drop-in replacement for the now extinct ERR MC-II boards. Note that the MC-II boards came in three flavors.
Most of the RCM2 boards I've found that are still available have either lights or couplers, but I always found the extra control for smoke to be very useful, so I miss that feature.

I'm not sure why some of the motorized units required the tethered cap, but all of them perform the same AFAIK. Obviously, the difference in different models is limited to what the two aux outputs are programmed for, couplers, lights, strobe, etc.
