I'm in the beginning process of rebuilding a Lionel RW Transformer. I am replacing the cord which is dry rotted cleaning it up as it is quite dusty.

My question is I don't see any rollers to replace and there is a rectifier Disk and there are replacement diodes for sale on eBay but when I asked the seller for instructions on how to install the diode he responded he didn't know.

Can anyone provide instructions on how to properly replace the rectifier disk? After the diode, cord and good cleaning what else should I be looking at? I have done several ZW and feel good about those but this RW is a little different animal.

On edit if I'm going to replace the rectifier disk can you also recommend where to purchase? The prices on eBay are from 1.99 to 4.99. The cost doesn't bother me I just want to use quality parts.

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not sure if he has your part, but he stocks over 8000 parts.

I am already making up my order for Jeff. I have the RW Service and repair manual and I'm ordering the parts I need for this to replace the fiber washers etc. I will ask him about the replacement diode for the rectifier disk.

Thanks!

Dave
