There's not much - certainly nothing like we have here on the East Coast.   The best shop (and Louisiana's largest) is about an hour north of the city in Ponchatoula - Electric Train Depot.  Easiest way is to take I-10 to I-55 for pretty much a straight shot into the city.  If you want to take the scenic route and add about 25 minutes to your trip you can take the causeway across Lake Ponchartrain and take I-190/I-22 into town.  They have limited hours though---don't think they are open at night.

I'm actually headed there to visit my in-laws Thanksgiving week.

Mikes in kenner which is about 20 minutes outside of downtown New Orleans is the only one open monday through saturday has everything from n up to g and a decent supply of lionel, mth etc.

Electric Train Depot in Ponchatoula is about an hour outside of downtown and on the northshore of lake Ponchartrain they are open Wendsday though Saturday and they are 95% O scale so really nice selection there so its really worth the extra drive IMO

Mike's Train's

2000 Williams Blvd, Kenner, LA 70062

I used to shop there years ago when I was a kid. He is a nice guy and had lots of stuff. I would recommend a visit. I don't know if Kenner train shop is still around, but it was nice also and a couple of blocks from Mike's. (He ran it at one time if I remember correctly.)

Rayvin's on Jefferson Hwy was a great place also, not sure if they are still in business. Would be worth a visit if they are still around.

Don't recommend Hub. Not much in the way of O-gauge(last time visited anyhow) and the guy behind the counter wasn't interested in my presence.
