Anyone know what is going on here? I have called several times and ALWAYS get pushed to a message machine regardless of time I call. Worse yet I leave messages and NEVER get any response. Does this place not want to sell items they have listed in the MTH search site as having? Baffled by lack of response. Like I said I have called morning, Afternoon and night several times with always the same result - NOTHING! Not good business practice in my book.

Never made contact with them. Finally tracked the car down at another dealer and purchased. Why post a phone number or have an answering machine if you have no intention of using either of them. I had heard great things about Imperial but as for me - DEAD DEALER! Meaning I guess he will  never sell anything to me. I like talking to people so I can ask questions, give my CC info over the phone and make the purchase. If he is only using email that is so said in today's world!

Well, I agree with you guys. I made (2) purchases (MTH Passenger sets) from Imperial this fall using the internet and email. Everything went smooth with those purchases. After I got the sets, I had a gripe that the 5 car MTH Passenger set I bought I assumed was NEW since he used to be a dealer. Nothing was advertised as used. 2 out of the 5 cars were definitely USED. They had so much gunk on the wheels and rollers it took a day to soak them and clean them. However, they cleaned up OK and cars were nice. So, I placed another order for a hard to find passenger car he advertised on his web site. Suffice to say, the car he sent me was not the car pictured on his site that I thought I was buying.

I sent NUMEROUS emails about this car and never got a response. Keep in mind, for the first (2) purchases, he responded to all my emails without hesitation.

Now that he moved to Texas, I am sure he is selling what inventory he has left. However, he will never get another dime from me.

One more thing I did not care for. I was charged 7% PA sales tax on my purchases when the cars were definitely sent from Texas. Maybe this is something I also do not understand.

Hey Donald,

With all the new tax laws with regards to online sales:  Pennsylvania is considered an Origin/Destination state.  That means that even if all a company does is deliver a product to your state, they're supposed to collect your state's tax.

Thanks for the clarification David. The 7% sales tax he charged is for Pittsburgh area. Where I live in PA, sales tax is only 6%. Regardless, I will not be making anymore future purchases.

Funny, I just received an order today from them that I placed on 12/16/2020.  Honestly, with all of the shipping delays this year, I didn't expect it so soon.  The prices were very reasonable.

I had ordered from them once before (fairly recently) and all went well.

I also noticed that they have several cars I would like listed as in-stock on the MTH product locator, but they are not listed on their website.  I sent them an email with the items listed several weeks ago, but I've heard nothing.  I actually assume that their inventory is probably inaccurate (not too uncommon in my experience).  I might try to contact them again on these items.  They are still listed on the locator.

Frank - That is how I found the car I was looking for listed with them. The MTH Locator listed them as having several but a week later it had narrowed down to just a couple. Like I said, calling on the phone is a waste of time regardless of time of day or day of week or how often. You NEVER get a reply on the phone and DON'T bother leaving a message as same results. Others here have said email is the only way to get in touch with him. Real shame as I would have liked to have gotten several items. But the other dealers listed on the forum were more than happy to talk with me and ship out items I wanted fast. I guess in a way he did me a favor as I got everything I wanted just had to use several places.

I took a chance (based on the mixed reports above) and placed an order on Thursday, 12/31. I didn't expect to hear anything over the holiday weekend, but on Monday afternoon (1/4) I received shipping confirmation with tracking. My 6-car rapid discharge hopper set arrived on Thursday (1/8). I only had a chance over the weekend to take 2 cars out, but they are new. Boxes have typical shelf wear for a 5 year old production. My experience was a basic, satisfactory transaction--I'd order from them again.

I ordered items on 4/12 and 4/25 after e-mail exchanges and phone call. I paid thru pay pal and each purchase was acknowledged from pay pal and from Imperial through auto e-mail response. The items I ordered have been removed from on line inventory. I have not received the items. I have not received e-mail telling items have shipped or they were sold to someone else or there was a problem processing payment. Last credit card statement shows I have not been charged. Many many, many, many attempts by phone and e-mail to make contact to determine status of my orders have been fruitless . His early quick and helpful responses, his providing me with a phone number that I could reach him with raises a question that perhaps he is now unable to respond due to injury or illness. I have searched on line and found nothing including an obit so presume he is alive. I am hopeful that he actually is still in business and am making a final contact attempt through snail mail.
