hello guys and gals.........

"I have learned the secret of how to live through any kind of situation - when I have enough to eat or when I am hungry, when I have everything I need or when I have nothing.  Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do"  Philippians 4:12-13 (Easy-to-read version ERV)

Back to trains.........

I have a MTH Premier caboose that I would like to strip the paint off the ABS plastic body but not sure which paint remover that is safe for ABS plastic ?  Which type of paint is safe for ABS plastics ?  I am repainting the caboose to Santa Fe colors.

From what we've tried at the club doing repaints, MTH paint was pretty solidly attached to the plastic. We theorized that it's electro-statically applied. That was some time ago. The lettering seemed to be pad-printed and came off pretty easily.

I'd clean it with 91% Isopropyl alcohol. That should take anything loose off the surface and clean things up nicely and won't attack the plastic. Hopefully Jeff Sohn or one of the other painters will chime in.
