Thanks Pete!….as you can see in Pete’s photos, the shaft he’s using is fixed in the middle, via two set screws,….( I’ve circled this arrangement) …..this set up works absolutely fine for the DIY guys, and as mentioned by Pete, you do need to sneak up on the ends, and trim them……My approach on my own engine was a one off design, because my example had so much gear box wander, it rocks and rolls like a drunken sailor. So I wanted to totally divorce the gear box from being mechanically tied to the flywheel,….My engine is not typical, and Pete & Alex both have had great success using Pete’s approach,…..😁
