I have a weaver pacific and the motor needs to be replaced.  This is the type of mount unique to weaver where the motor fits to a seperate mount that bolts to the frame.  There is no adjustment as it is so replacing with anything other than a duplicate will require some work.  Anyone know of a source?  Or even a source for similar size motors if I have to take that step.  I believe a close size Pittman is an 8322.

A photo would be great.  From your description, I'm thinking that the original motor has a worm gear pressed onto its shaft.  So it's not just a matter of finding another motor.  You'll have to transfer the worm gear over, and there are ony a few people on this forum who I would trust to do that job (I'm not one of them!)  Good luck!

astarr, You can look at Harmon Yards work on a Weaver Pacific (mine) that Pat just sent me a short video on. Its shown on the post "What the Hobby is All About. Kids and Grandkids". It shows my Weaver I-4 Pacific after upgrading. This is the third Weaver engine Pat has done for me and he still has two I-5 's to upgrade for me. The end result is a very good running engine starting off at an incredible slow speed and being able to pull a 10 car passenger train up a .85% grade without showing any effort. Not sure what your needs are past the motor, but if its a nice locomotive, maybe having Pat upgrade it is an answer. I hope this helps.

Pat, bill and the rest.  Thank you. I DCC the  engine and ran well with factory drive for 11 years and I use it alot.  I noticed it was running slower, thenvtgd decoder safety overload started to kick I. On a sharp grade.  I bench tested the motor only and it was drawing more than the Pittmans and canons I usually use.  Si I was thinking the engine was just drawing more as it aged. Solution was to stop out the decoder with one with more capacity.  It draws maybe .25 amp more than similar locos but that will work.  Time will tell.  Thanks agsin.
