I ordered 15 pounds of Brennan's Ballast but it won't be here until next week since he is at York (you couldn't ask for a nicer guy with Brennan). Greatly enjoyed talking with him over the phone this morning). I had this idea of doing the scenery FIRST then the ballasting. First obviously would be roads. I've "paved" roads with the Woodland Scenics stuff before and while it is OK, are there any other pre-made type options? Scenic Express doesn't really have what I'm looking for.

In addtion, any suggestions for making good crossings and approaches with Atlas track with the same roadway material?

Below is a shot of what I'm working with. I'm not planning to have a bunch of roads going all over but a crossing right in front of that CPL Signal on the outer loop, going over the tracks with the area between the station and corner store on the far end one large paved "parking lot" type thing from the station all the way down ending diagonally from the station to the diner (I was going to put construction crews "expanding" later). Hope this description makes sense.

Any suggestions on how to best go about this in the easiest yet most realistic manor?
