That is nice. I would display it proudly, too, if I had one.

Ditto to all. A great President

How about a telephone number or e-mail address where we can get one and the cost!

Wish he was around now ...
I got mine at the Train Station in Mountain Lakes, NJ.
"I like Ike", wouldn't mind getting that one.
Awesome, I would also really like to have one.
Got mine !!!!!!
Great Car..Mine came Thursday with one of my CFs.
A great man. During the war he sent his children inland to stay with friends of mine, now since passed. He was afraid of a Japanese invasion on the west coast. A great leader, a great man, sorely missed.
Fred

Great pickup. Great President. I'll have to get one myself someday.
Just ordered mine from Nassau Hobbies

Thought I would add their link: www.nassauhobby.com
Just ordered mine from a forum sponsor.
I also just ordered one of these cars from a Forum sponsor.
I am not much into commemorative or special cars. However, since I think Ronald Reagan was the best president in my lifetime, I ordered one of these. I think I may take it in to display at work. The only other commemorative car I have was decorated by a Forum member for a special event, and I have it proudly displayed at home.
Me, I'm waiting for a Truman or FDR boxcar.
EBT, thanks/ Didn't realize there was a Truman. Is it out yet?
Truman BoxCar was released last year. FDR has not been made as yet. Lionel makes 4 cars each year.
If they do one for obama it should be an exploding missle box car ...
This is certainly no criticism of the Presidential cars depicting Reagan, Truman, and Roosevelt, but how many younger model railroaders even identify with those presidents to make the cars a desirable part of their collection? To many young people (certainly not all, of course), Harry Truman and Franklin Roosevelt might well be in the same era as Abraham Lincoln. You may find this hard to believe but once I heard a young girl working in a pizza shop say that the first president was Lincoln. When a co-worker laughed and showed her a one dollar bill and asked whose image was on it, she didn't know. Now I fully realize that not all young people are as historically illiterate, but I suppose us old-timers will mostly be the ones who will buy these cars. Now if they could produce boxcars with images of rock and roll singers and hollywood entertainers...well maybe....just maybe.....
GG-1 -- I'm waiting to see how many Millard Fillmore or James Buchanan cars they sell.
The door opens. I could store my "Reagan Is Right" bubble gum cigar in it.
Steve
Too bad it wasn't a gondola car,you could load it up with Jelly Belly's and have one every time it came around the track.
Andrew Jackson and Warren G Harding from 2014 catalog also have been shipped.
Eisenhower boxcar has not shipped yet.
Rich sees where this thread is going, however gingerly. For myself, I am waiting for the Richard Nixon car. He opened the door to China making our toys possible with great quality and low prices.

Cant argue that POTRZBE...What I find hard to believe is that its 40 years ago this month that he resigned !!! I remember watching it on TV.
I am really in a state of depression--there's no Hoover car!
Pretty good...GG-1fam!
Thanks for posting this Marty. Somehow I missed the announcement on these. I just ordered mine. Can't wait to display it. I will put with my UP4141
This would certainly be one box car that I would treasure. I got to spend some time with President Reagan at the White House and he was one super guy in every respect. Not many people know this, but he loved model trains. When the time is right, one of our Forum Members will elaborate on this subject.
Not that we are going to have a discussion of OGR policy here but...Marty...Imperial Trains advertises with OGR and thus you CAN post their info in this post...www.imperialtrainco.com.
I'm not one to buy fantasy cars but this one is a must. A few others would be great also.
i think President George Bush Sr and Jr would make a great pair to have.
