I had someone respond to my Williams GG1 for sale on OGR. This was converted to Lionel TMCC, ERR and RS 5.0. The question was will it run in conventional.

WAYNEPA, Yes it will run conventional, but if you have Legacy or TMCC make sure the base unit is turned off or unpluged. It must be run on only AC power.

The answer is yes.
All command equipped locomotives will run in conventional. That's part of the design specifications. The only exception I know of are the early Lion Chief locos, before they added the "plus". Those have to be run with their remotes.
As Ray said, any command system must be turned off, disconnected, or not present.
