I've never been to the Scanton Show and I'm in the area for tomorrow's show. Is it worth going to this show?

I know nothing about this show. However, since you are here, I suggest you go. Please be sure to tell us what you saw.
Where is "Scanton?" I've never heard of it.
The locals say Scra'on (drives me nuts).
The show is smaller than say, Allentown, but always features a good selection and some good finds. It is always worth visiting. The show is put on by the Scranton Hobby Center a long time merchant in downtown Scranton, just a block away from the show.
The show is in the old LACKAWANNA station...a must see, especially the main dining room, nee waiting room.
Hey Rich, got to lookout for them greasy rails in Scanton (sic).

With these small shows, you never know the deals you may run into unless you go! I would go but I gotta goto work!
BTW, Stop over at Krispy Kreme Donut shop . It's the only one that I am aware of in N.E.P.A. and it's on the other side of the ridge from the hotel!
The Scranton show is real nice. I have been there several times and always enjoyed the good deals.
Now I know what Im doing tomorrow..
Thanks OGR
Haven't been there in at least 5 years, but they usually had a fairly decent selection. IMO not as good a show as Allentown or Hamburg, PA's show because of much less dealer variety, but still a good followup and string of shows all within about month and about 50 miles of each other. Still love to admire the architecture and detail of the Lackawanna Station.

The show may not be large but its worth going to. The Lackawanna station hotel is a nice restored old train station to see and the Steamtown national historic sight is just a few blocks down. One s bound to like something there.
Well, I went to the Scranton (Pennsylvania!) train show and I was pleasantly surprised. I got there about 10:15 and it was crowded with a lot of vendors and healthy crowd. Just missed out on some repainted MPC GP-9's that were re-painted for Erie. (the seller was wrapping them up for someone else just as I was going to tell him that I would take them!). Was wishy washy on a 736 because it was bent on one corner and had replacement trucks on the tender, so I let it go. I settled on 2 RGS repaints: a Jack Daniels boxcar and an Ocean Spray reefer. Spoke with Bob from RGS Trains who was a very nice guy and cut me some slack on the prices because I bought 2. So, all in all, I'm glad that I went and hope to go next year!
Bobby Salerno is a good old guy. I have known him for a long time.
I have been going to the show for years, I was there selling today and it was a great day. Talked to a lot of people and they all seem to be having a good time. Thanks folks for keeping this hobby fun.
