Brian, I will be hanging out at the store all day so I can take it home.

Since you will be there, you need to make sure that mine gets a UPS label and goes out the door with the Brown Truck on the 23rd. 

Brian; They ship using FedEx Ground many times. If it does go UPS it will be there 24 hours later if you are within 400 miles of the shipper. I can't speak for FedEx.

any idea when the big boys will arrive on the east coast????

Spence, most everything I get fro m Charles Ro ships UPS. In this case, I will make sure.

Brian, this is one cool engine, as I just got mine #4291 and its a Steaming Running Engine. Its totally improved from the version from 2005!!! WOW

It would be very nice if you could share a video and photo's of your new engine.  It's difficult to grasp the WOW without seeing it.

I sure hope the weather forecast for Dec 23-24th is going to cooperate for deliveries Brian.  Does UPS use snowmobile's?  Can't wait to see you new locomotive when it arrives, I know you will post photo's for us to drool over.

I suspect some will see the Daylight CF easily before Christmas depending on who you ordered from.

That's right round 2 of the cab forwards are coming in!

The first wave came and flew out the door so quickly I never had a chance to buy one.

Hmm, I did not purchase a Big Boy, maybe I could find an extra one of these?

Dave, some were delivered a while ago. 

Many dealers  likely ordered some extras.

Charles Ro shows both bigboys and cab forwards still available. Maybe not every cab number, but if that dosen't matter you can still get one.

Sure does if you ordered the Daylight version. 

Make especially sure that Ro packs & ships the non-Daylight version to Brian.  He'll thank me later in the end for that persuasion, I know in his heart he truly is averse to the idea of soiling the prototypical accuracy garden with the fantasy Daylight version and will appreciate the true beauty of a locomotive painted as it was in real life. 

John, where have you been lately on this subject. I miss your humor. Good to see that you are OK. I was getting worried.

I am ordering a Daylight version and then shipping it to John to get it painted correctly.......OK, Brian and John....I just had to put a jab in there!!...LOL

If I was a SP fan, I'd ordered this one in a heartbeat. Actually, I almost ordered it anyhow!

It's a beautiful locomotive. The DL version will be stunning! Though it's fantasy, I think it'll be a very desirable locomotive in the future.

Congrats to all who bought one. Can't wait to see the videos and pictures of all these locomotives, no matter the color!

What is a DL version?

No, only the Southern Paciific had them. There was so many long tunnels and snowsheds om the SP that the smoke and all the gases from the steamers were asphyxiating the crews. So the SP "turned" the engine around, putting the smoke stack behind the crew.

Daylight, the DL version or Daylight version, and from what I gather is also know as the John Korling Special, in respect of John's tenacious efforts to have Lionel make the engine in Daylight colors rather than the ubiquitous boring black.  (just kidding)
