What do you think the rationale was behind this design? Pretty obvious that only one engine could be coaled at a time.
Flood load hoppers and gondolas with coal, 2 lanes that fill underneath so can load 3 lanes of coal at once

think this was for filling tenders, not hoppers or gons and there are no lanes underneath. as per the builder "There aren't any chutes under the coaling tower, just one track line that's under the front 5 chutes"
The coaling tower arrived safe and sound yesterday. All I can say is WOW! Yes, it's even nicer looking in person than in the photos above!! I can't wait to put it to use on my future new layout. In the meantime, it will be proudly displayed on a bookcase in my home office.
Alex and Alan sure make a great custom design and build team. I'm sure this is no surprise to those of you who have seen their work up close, but this is a first for me. I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering having a structure custom made. I'm sure I will think of something else for them to build down the road!

Is this tower made from styrene plastic or wood? Did you use scribed siding? Other details about the construction would be helpful.
